PROGRAM NOTES

Wellen (German word for waves) is a work for solo violin. Wellen refers to the two waves that govern the piece: dance-like energy and stillness. This work is written for and dedicated to Madeleine Jansen.
 
Phrygian Journey is a work for solo piano. Each movement is built on individual scale degrees of E Phrygian mode with each piece having its own unique mode.
