The term ‘engagement’ has a lot of buzz in multiple arenas…not just in the arts. A notable marketing publication says, “…Engagement isn’t necessarily always about what you want, it’s also about what the reader/visitor wants and what they walk away with. This gets to the core of why the concept of audience engagement can be so difficult to define — let alone measure and formalize….”

Join several regionally-based artists who have experimented mightily with multiple forms of audience engagement in their creative process as we dig into the subject to help you prepare your application for a NextLOOK residency at Joe’s Movement Emporium in the 2016-17 season. The RFP will be released in mid-January and we are offering this workshop to help you strengthen your proposal in regards to an audience engagement strategy during your prospective residency.

NextLOOK artists Margot Greenlee (Bodywise Dance), Matt Reckeweg (Pointless Theatre Company) and Vincent Thomas (VT Dance) will answer questions from Brooke Kidd, Executive Director of Joe’s Movement Emporium, and from you, the gathered audience. Join us for what promises to be an enlightening and stimulating conversation that will inform and improve not only your application, but the way you are making work and the important role of audiences in that process.
