Program Notes:

Dr. Lee Hinkle says, "I had the idea for this concert a few years back. Realizing the weath of great pieces in my own backyard here in Maryland, I was inspired to feature the works and talents of those whom I am constantly surrounded by: My neighbors in the musical community. In fact, there were so many pieces that I wanted to program, I expanded this concert into a two-concert set paired with faculty recital on Wednesday, May 7 in Gildenhorn Recital Hall, which is also entitled Made in Maryland.

The concert features the music of two University of Maryland College Park faculty composers: Dr. Larry Moss and Dr. Thomas DeLio. It also includes a work by Stuart Saunders Smith, professor emeritus at the University of Maryland Baltimore County.

I dedicate this concert to Dr. Larry Moss, who will retire at the end of this semester. We wish you all the best in your retirement, thanks for all of the fantastic music!"
