Join UMD faculty from across the School of Music as they celebrate violist Katherine Murdock's retirement from the University of Maryland! This performance features chamber works that spotlight the viola, culminating in a performance of Brahms' monumental Piano Quartet No. 2 in A Major, op. 26. Featuring Professors Robert DiLutis, Eric Kutz, Katherine Murdock, Irina Muresanu, Rita Sloan and James Stern, this performance is sure to be spectacular!

Masterful Strings: Amir Eldan, cello

ABOUT THE EVENT

Amir Eldan has an extensive career as a soloist, chamber musician, and guest principal cellist. At the age of 22, he made history by becoming the youngest member of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York, where he won the position of Associate Principal Cello. He has collaborated with members of the Guarneri and Juilliard String Quartet, Richard Goode and Lynn Harrell, among many more. Join us as Eldan takes the stage for a special recital performance.
