The Muses proudly present their Original Works Projects, a memorable night of short plays written, directed, and performed by women who are either current UMD students or alumni. This event showcases new works that are sure to excite and inspire you.

Student Dance Association UMDances

ABOUT THE EVENT

New Dances is an opportunity for student dancers to choreograph original work to participate in a concert. These works represent many genres of movement and may be improvised or set, and unedited or fully finished.

University & Community Band Concert

ABOUT THE EVENT

Craig Potter, conductor

Representing a variety of majors across campus, the University Band is joined by the Maryland Community Band for a concert of traditional and contemporary wind band music in a performance perfect for all ages. Repertoire will be announced closer to the concert.

Masterful Strings: Amadi Azikiwe, viola

ABOUT THE EVENT

Amadi Azikiwe, violist, violinist and conductor, has been heard in recital in major cities throughout the United States, such as New York, Boston, Cleveland, Chicago, San Francisco, Pittsburgh, Houston, Baltimore and Washington, DC, including an appearance at the US Supreme Court. Currently, Azikiwe is Music Director and Community Engagement Director of the Harlem Chamber Players and a member of the Pressenda Chamber Players.

Join us as Azikiwe presents a special recital performance as a part of our Masterful Strings series!
