Suzuki Association of the Greater Washington Area (SAGWA) is hosting its 43rd Annual String Festival and world premiere of Rocktacular!© at the University of Maryland Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center Dekelboum Hall. The concert will take place on Sunday, April 14th at 2PM and will feature more than 200 DC metro area string students ranging in age from 4 to 17.

Russell T Fallstad, violin/viola, and Rodney Farrar, cello, will serve as hands-on clinicians for the event. Fallstad, an accomplished Suzuki method teacher at his Heartstrings Academy, tours internationally and records with the renowned rock-pop-hiphop violin duo, The Dueling Fiddlers and has studied with classical legends Isaac Stern, The Juilliard Quartet, and the Emerson Quartet. Farrar studied at the Eastman School of Music and Indiana University with noted cellists Ronald Leonard and Janos Starker and was Principal Cellist and soloist with the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.  He has been vital in developing the American Suzuki cello movement.
