Graduate Fellowship Woodwind Quintet SIREN programmed some of their favorite works for winds: Harbison's Quintet for Winds; Francaix's Quintette No. 2; and a rarely-heard chamber arrangement of Knoxville: Summer of 1915 with faculty artist Linda Mabbs, soprano.

SIREN's oboist Emily Tsai says, "While these works are some of our favorites, coincidentally, each is a reflection on critical moments in life. Harbison was a young man looking ahead to the rest of career when he composed his Quintet for Winds. Franciax was nearing the end of his life and reflecting on his past when he wrote his second quintet. Barber's work tells of a man contemplating a life-changing moment."
