David Zinman conducts the NOI Philharmonic in June 1988 with Ron Leonard, cello
Nearly thirty years ago, the National Orchestral Institute was founded at the University of Maryland with a bold vision to train the next generation of orchestral musicians. In its distinguished history, young performers have had a chance to launch their careers under the guidance of renowned faculty and conductors each June since 1988. These experiences and the lifelong friendships that are formed, continue to make NOI a destination for young orchestral musicians on the thresholds of the careers.
For our thirtieth year, we are asking our alumni to donate to our scholarship fund to help launch the next generation of orchestral musicians.
