NextNOW Fest 2017 is coming! It will take place September 15 and 16, 2017, at The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center.

Since 2014, the NextNOW Fest has been the University of Maryland’s creative welcome and welcome back for Terps. The Fest brings artists from around campus, the region and the country to The Clarice for two nights of nonstop music, theatre and dance performances and immersive, technology-driven artistic experiences and installations.

Often surprising and always intriguing, NextNOW Fest experiences will make you re-think what is possible. Past NextNOW Fest artists include Reggie Watts, Mitski, Prinze George, The Neo-Futurists, Tarica June and Chargaux.

What do you want to see at NextNOW Fest 2016?
Do you have an existing project or an idea for an experience that you think would be great for NextNOW Fest? Do you know about an exciting and interesting alumnus or local artist that we should check out? Are you excited about the NextNOW Fest and want to participate in its planning and execution?

We are seeking ideas for performances, activities, visual arts and food experiences to offer at NextNOW Fest 2017. We’re looking for artistic experiences that:

  • Are interactive and participatory
  • Are surprising and unexpected
  • Give audiences the freedom to tap into their own creativity
  • Are short (less than an hour long)

Submit your NextNOW Fest 2017 idea
The last day to submit ideas is Friday, May 12, 2017.
