Digital Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary

The College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Maryland is seeking a digital marketing coordinator to join its Marketing and Communications (MarCom) team. Reporting to the assistant director of marketing, the digital marketing coordinator supports a wide range of digital marketing projects for the performing arts at Maryland that help advance strategic priorities in audience building, branding, recruitment and reputation management. In collaboration with other members of the MarCom team, this position creates and executes innovative digital marketing strategies that leverage social media, email marketing and digital advertising content. 



Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media or related field.

Experience: Minimum of two-four years of professional experience in digital marketing/communications, managing a high volume of work focused on advancing an organization’s digital marketing strategy.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Significant experience creating, curating and distributing compelling social media content. 
  • Demonstrated experience with email marketing and digital advertising. Familiarity using HTML to maximize the impact of digital tools.  
  • Experience with Wrike or other workflow/project management tools. Demonstrates superb attention to detail, ability to multitask and exemplary organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and synthesize analytics to communicate audience trends accurately and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse constituents. Strong team-building and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative, innovative and excited by experimentation.
  • Proven ability to prioritize complex projects, managing and meeting deadlines and deliverables.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of an integrated MarCom team. 
  • Must know advanced features of Microsoft Office products and the Google Suite with the ability to work collaboratively using virtual meeting tools like Zoom. 


  • Background in the performing arts and/or experience in higher education 
  • Skilled with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Keen understanding of marketing research and capability to analyze and present data analytics.
