Michael Fili

Artistic Administration Graduate Assistant

Michael Fili is a graduate student in the University of Maryland’s School of Music pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts in Composition. Dedicated to expanding the audience for contemporary classical music through innovative and accessible performance, Michael joins The Artist Partner Program from The Kennedy Center’s Marketing and Sales team, where he oversaw group ticket sales for national and international educational organizations. Regularly commissioned and performed, Michael’s work as a composer has been recognized by organizations including Chanticleer, the International Federation for Choral Music, and Westminster Choir College and is published in the United States and Europe. Michael also maintains an active career as a professional chorister, having performed with ensembles including the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Berlin State Opera Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, and San Francisco Symphony, under conductors including John Adams, Marin Alsop, Pierre Boulez, Christoph Eschenbach, Joseph Flummerflet, Mariss Jansons, Ton Koopman, Kurt Masur, Joe Miller, Sir Roger Norrington, Robert Page, Helmuth Rilling, Donald Runnicles, and Michael Tilson Thomas.
