Join Lindsey Kasabian ’03 for a workshop about casting and entering the professional job market in New York City and Los Angeles. She will offer a brief lecture about her theatre experience at UMD and her decision not to pursue professional acting, but instead find alternative routes to remain the industry. She will offer advice on networking and finding job opportunities in NYC and LA, and she will break down the intricacies of navigating the television business. In particular, she will focus on the casting process and will invite students to participate in a mock casting session. The workshop will also provide students with an opportunity to ask questions and discuss.

About Lindsey Kasabian

Lindsey graduated from University of Maryland, College Park with a B.A. in Theatre Studies (May ’03). She began her career in New York at William Morris Agency and then relocated to Los Angeles in 2005 to accept a position at the company’s Beverly Hills office in the Television Business Affairs department. The following year she transitioned into a different facet of the entertainment industry – Talent – when employed by 20th Century Fox Television’s Casting Department. 

In 2010, when just newly promoted to an Executive, Lindsey solely covered “Homeland” – a Fox21 pilot for Showtime. Under her supervision the project landed stars Claire Danes, Damian Lewis and Mandy Patinkin while elevating the careers of several actors. The show, along with its creators and cast, has gone on to win various awards in recognition by such organizations as the Primetime Emmys, Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild and Casting Society of America.

While casting, Lindsey oversees a roster of writers, producers and directors for the studio. Notable talent that Lindsey has cultivated and placed into the studio’s shows includes Rainn Wilson, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Emma Roberts, Romany Malco, John Cho, Melanie Griffith, Jason Isaacs, Wilmer Valderrama, Nazanin Boniadi, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson, Geoffrey Rush, Emily Watson, Jason Mitchell, Ramon Rodriguez, Chloe Sevigny, Michael Pena, Robert ‘RZA’ Diggs, Jay Hernandez, Regina King, Rupert Friend, Maria Bello, Corey Stoll, Suraj Sharma, Kiernan Shipka and Justin Kirk.
