Akwantuo: The Journey

by Mustapha Braimah

Akwantuo: The Journey is a piece about immigrants and their experiences living in the United States, exploring what it means to acquire a visa and make the journey across national and cultural borders. The struggles, difficulties, frustrations and the wait will all be magnified. The piece combines traditional African, contemporary and Ghanaian dance theater to elaborate this difficult subject.
