Students will work alongside actors from the Filter Theatre Company in a practical, hands-on workshop, to discover how text plays a central role in the way actors envision their characters.Join us for this informal conversation between actors from Filter and UMD students about the company’s process, including plenty of time for questions.

Every Filter Shakespeare project aspires to pinpoint the very heart of the play by uncovering the light and darkness of the language and the lyricism of the text. Filter is inspired to respond instinctively to the text allowing for spontaneity and a creativity that releases a play for an audience. There is a genuine sense of playfulness between the actors, musicians and the audience, with Shakespeare's lines delivered by actors really rooted in the truth behind the meaning of the play. Filter’s Shakespeare productions aim to touch and inspire many ages ranges, from all strata of society. Register by writing to engage.theclarice@umd.edu
