Hair, Health and Neighborhood Stories: Installation Unveiling

Wednesday, May 13, 2015 . 7PM

The MFA theatre design class, taught by Jared Mezzocchi, has been working on this project and has designed an installation that will be unveiled at this event.

The project involved interviewing several barbers and customers at an African American owner operated barber shop/beauty salon in Hyattsville during the spring semester. The Shop, which has a customer base representing 15 different countries, has been the site for several healthy living awareness-raising efforts that are being implemented by the Maryland Center for Health Equity, The Clarice's primary partner in this project.

This event will include the installation unveiling and a small reception.

Funded through Maryland Moving Forward, a program of the UMD Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
