Tessa is a costume draper at The Clarice. With a focus primarily on menswear and tailoring, she works with graduate students to help realize their costume designs for stage.

Before coming to the Clarice, Tessa worked extensively as a tailor, creating costumes for many area theatres, including Shakespeare Theatre Company and Washington National Opera.

When not hard at work in the costume shop, Tessa moonlights as an amateur pastry chef, having studied in New York City. She continually pushes the bounds of what one can reasonably create in a 22 square foot kitchen.

What is your favorite part about working at The Clarice?

My favorite part of working at The Clarice is being continually on the frontier of new works, and watching students take their first bold steps into becoming future leaders and artists in this industry.
