Wealth. Fame. Power. Julius Caesar, Dread Captain of the Pirate Republic of Rome, attained all this and more. Now his enemies fear he will crown himself King of the Pirates. On the sandy shores of Rome, in the island's dark alleys, and in its dingy bars, a conspiracy forms against the Dread Captain as storms brew on the horizon.

New this Spring! Clarice Presents brings outdoor movies to campus! Join us for the timeless film West Side Story (1961). Rival New York street gangs war in Manhattan over turf boundaries while two youths fall in love, but they are from opposing groups!

The Clarice's Outdoor Movies: Ferris Bueller's Day Off

ABOUT THE EVENT

New this Spring! Clarice Presents brings outdoor movies to campus! Join us for the timeless film Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986). A charismatic high-school student convinces his repressed best friend to play hooky with him and his girlfriend and attempts to bring the young man out of his shell during a memorable day in Chicago. Registration is free and encouraged!

Opera Scene Study: Maryland Opera Studio

ABOUT THE EVENT

First-year Maryland Opera Studio students demonstrate their talent in this showcase featuring scenes from a wide operatic repertory. To keep the focus on beautiful, pure sounds and vivid acting, the performance is accompanied only by piano and minimal props. Opera Scene Study Part 2 will take place on May 3 at 7:30 p.m.

PGCPS North County Art Exhibit

ABOUT THE EVENT

Students in the northern part of Prince George's County Public Schools will have their artwork on display in the The Clarice's Grand Pavilion at the University of Maryland. The show will be on display from Monday, April 10-18, 2024.

The UMD School of Music’s prestigious and highly selective Piano Division showcases its talented students in this semesterly performance of solo and collaborative works. Repertoire will be announced closer to the performance.

Music For All: Concert Band Festival 2024

ABOUT THE EVENT

The University of Maryland School of Music and Associate Director of Bands Andrea Brown, in partnership with Atholton High School Director of Bands Eric Posner and Music for All, are hosting the second Mid-Atlantic Concert Band festival. Middle and high schools from across the mid-Atlantic will come together for a day of masterclasses, clinics and performances. The festival aims to build community amongst school-aged musicians while providing them with positive musical experiences and mentorship.

RESCHEDULED: UMD Percussion Ensemble Concert

ABOUT THE EVENT

Usually positioned at the back of the orchestra, members of the percussion section move center stage to reveal the colorful, melodic potential of their instruments in this striking concert of contemporary music.
