Greater College Park is booming. Nearly 20 projects, including The Hotel at the University of Maryland, four new academic buildings and new downtown amenities, including MilkBoy ArtHouse, are under way. The boom — called Greater College Park — is the result of cooperative work between the city, Prince George’s County, the state, private developers and the university. Greater College Park links dynamic academic buildings, a public-private research hub and a vibrant downtown community. The progress is the realization of the University District Vision, a collaborative effort spearheaded by the College Park City-University Partnership that also features sustainability, transportation, schools and safety.
Through innovative partnerships with artists, students and the community, MilkBoy ArtHouse will be an intimate community-gathering place for experiencing boundary-breaking art while enjoying inspired bites and beverages. We exist to nourish the imagination of our community and campus, and ignite the creative impulse that will shape our future.
Consistently eclectic, MilkBoy ArtHouse’s top-quality offerings will range from classical, contemporary, cabaret, global pop, indie rock and jazz to film, performance and spoken word, as well as food and drink happenings. Expect to see local, national and international artists, plus talent from right here within UMD.
The second floor of MilkBoy ArtHouse includes a gallery space that will feature artists from around the world and around the corner. Exhibits can be co-curated with community partners.
Bites and beverages
You could describe MilkBoy ArtHouse’s menu the same way you could describe its performance calendar – high quality, global flavors, a few surprises and lots of fun. Lunch and dinner will be served with a beverage menu offering a selection of regional and international wines as well as a variety of rotating craft beers, and a bevy of chilled and hot craft cocktails (alcoholic and non-alcoholic).
MilkBoy ArtHouse’s intimate urban hangout atmosphere will offer a fresh take on contemporary cool where residents and students feel at home. Graduate scenic design students from UMD’s own School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies are assisting in the thoughtfully chosen colors, furnishings and lighting to provide the perfect setting to absorb artistic experiences.
