Where is MilkBoy ArtHouse?
MilkBoy ArtHouse, connecting the campus of the University of Maryland and downtown College Park through the arts, is located at 7416 Baltimore Avenue.
Who designed MilkBoy ArtHouse?
The home-grown design of MilkBoy ArtHouse was inspired by students and community through a series of community “Think-a-thons” that envisioned an enlivened College Park of the future. MSR Architecture Firm of Hyattsville created the final design in partnership with Morgan-Keller Construction of Columbia, MD. Graduate scenic design students from UMD’s own School of Theatre, Dance, and Performance Studies are also assisting in the thoughtfully chosen colors, furnishings and lighting to provide the perfect setting to absorb artistic experiences.

How are campus and community involved?
MilkBoy ArtHouse is a reflection of several inspired gatherings of campus and community through Think-a-thons in College Park and at The Clarice as part of the NextNOW Fest. Additionally, UMD students in the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation — under the guidance of Professor Madlen Simon — helped identify design solutions for the new campus + community art space, restaurant and bar. The Clarice hosted a series of Listening Sessions and pre-construction tours in the Summer of 2016 to gather ideas and share progress with our campus and community. UMD students and local community members will join The Clarice and MilkBoy as curatorial partners in activating a vibrant performance scene that reflects this artistic crossroads of creativity.
