A frequent guest of the National Orchestral Institute + Festival, Asher Fisch returns to lead Bartók's tempestuous ballet score to The Miraculous Mandarin and Mahler's Fourth Symphony.

In an exciting new partnership with Wolf Trap Opera, the orchestra is joined onstage by Filene Young Artist Madison Leonard, who will appear as the featured soprano soloist in Mahler’s Symphony No. 4.  The performance is part of Wolf Trap Opera's UNTRAPPED series, which brings the thrill of live vocal music to new places and unexpected spaces such as The Clarice.

Program:

Richard Wagner: Overture to Rienzi
Béla Bartók: Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin
Gustav Mahler: Symphony No. 4

Join us for a SPARK! Lounge Pre-concert event: Mahler 4 at 7:00 pm and Post-concert event: Superior Cling Jazz Trio at 9:30 pm.

The National Orchestral Institute + Festival brings together aspiring orchestral musicians from across the country for a month of dynamic music-making and professional exploration. Chosen by a rigorous, cross-country audition process, these young artists present passionate and awe-inspiring performances of adventuresome repertoire at The Clarice and in the community.
