Program Notes:

Named after the patron saint of musicians, this modern-day creative hybrid of Latin culture, rock and world music draws inspiration from all over the world, utilizing Pan-American rhythms like cumbia, bossa nova, rumba, bolero, tango, jazz, rock and klezmer music.

Fronted by the lusty-voiced “La Marisoul,” this band takes on the plight of immigrants and deep social issues sheathed in deceptively seductive tunes that can shift from groovy, psychedelic and ambient, to jaunty, smoky and polyrhythmic. Vivo y en directo desde The Clarice. ¡Vamos!

Presented in partnership with the Coalition for Latino Student Organizations, the Latin American Studies Center and the Office of Multicultural Involvement and Community Advocacy at UMD
